What's Linux? And why it matters?

Linux is an OS (operating system) similar to the Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X. Because Linux is open source & free, it is rising gradually i.e see Android or Chromebooks etc.

The IT War Story

The story begins with GNU (GNU's Not Unix!) by Richard Stallman and then Linux by Linux Torvalds. They are combined called GNU/Linux, the free OS mentioned above.

Microsoft is mainly closed source software company, their own choice, no offence. They are basically competitors, hence IT war between them. But the scenario is changing now a days.
